Check out MY BLOG for more information! Introduction Welcome! This is the first chapter in the Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to Niche Marketing. This chapter will be focused on keyword research. The main 2 points I am going to go over in this post are picking a niche and picking products. In the next post we are going to go more in depth in the keyword analysis process. And to quote the Joker, “And here we go”. Part 1: Picking a Niche For most people starting niche marketing, this is the hardest thing to do. But actually, it is quite simple. The first thing that you should do is get out a piece of paper and a pen. Yes, you do not need a computer at all. Just a good old fashioned pen and paper. The next step is also pretty tough: write down 5 things that you enjoy doing. Woah! I know this is intense :) . This should take less than 1 minute. If it takes longer than that, you are thinking way too hard. After you finish those two steps, you are done. You have in front of you 5 niches that you can make a website about. Now after you have these 5 things, pick your favorite thing to do. If you don’t think that you will be able to make a website around this topic, then pick another one. I am sure that you are going to have at least one activity that can be your niche. All 5 of the things that you picked could probably be used as a niche. Since this is a step-by-step guide, I am going to have to pick a hypothetical niche. The niche that I am going to choose is basketball. I enjoy playing basketball and have not yet put together a site dealing with basketball. I will hopefully learn a thing or two myself during this whole process. Part 2: Picking Products Now that you have your niche, it is time to pick some products. The first thing that you are going to have to is brainstorm products that can be sold to customers searching for your niche. In the example of basketball I can sell: training guides + videos, shoes, jerseys, basketball hoops, and basketballs. That is just a simple list of a few things that I would be able to sell. You should be able to think of several things that can be sold in your niche. If you can’t think of anything either try harder :) or pick a different niche. After you have a list of a few products that you can sell in your niche, you are ready to move on. (SIDE NOTE: If you don’t think people are going to buy one of your products online, do not include it in your list. In the example, I do not think that people are going to buy basketball hoops online, so they are not going to be in my potential list of products.) After you have a list of potential products, sign up for the following places (They are both free of charge): 1. ClickBank 2. Amazon Associates 1. Clickbank ClickBank is the Internet’s leading retailer of digital products. Whether you’re looking to sell, promote, or shop for digital goods, ClickBank is for you. After you sign up for ClickBank, you are going to want to search the marketplace for products that you wish to sell. In the ClickBank marketplace, you should see a search button. Next to it, click on the Advanced Search link. Once you get to the next page, you should insert the niche that you picked. For my example, it would be “Basketball”. After that, set the gravity for your product search for to be higher than 30. Gravity is a measure of how well the product is selling. The higher the gravity, the more sales that product is getting. But that also means more affiliates are promoting it and more competition. I tend to look for products that have a gravity between 30 and 70. The next thing that you should set is the initial sale. I try to make this around $25 because I want to make a decent amount of money. After you filled in all of these fields, click submit. Now the next part is hard to explain because I do not know all of your niches. But, in my case, no products came up. If that happens to you, I would recommend changing your gravity or initial sale price. If you still can’t find anything, you will have to look for a specific product. In the basketball niche, I know that people are looking for products that teach them how to jump higher. So, in the search box, I typed in “vertical training” and a few products came up. After you get some search results, check out each of the products that you are hoping to promote. Ask yourself a few questions: 1. Does this product work? 2. Are their reviews? 3. Is there an attractive sales page? After you find some products that you like, start up an Excel (or similar product) spreadsheet and make 4 columns. 1st = Name of product 2nd = Product URL 3rd = Affiliate link 4th = Sales Price After you find all the products you are going to promote, write down this information for each one. This will allow you to stay more organized later on. To get your affiliate link, click on the promote button next to the product and fill in your id and you will receive your link. 2. Amazon Amazon is the largest online store on the Internet and a great way for anyone to cash in by being an associate. The best thing about Amazon is that it is so well known. As long as you are sending traffic to Amazon, you are going to making some sales. But here I am going to show you how to pick out products for you niche. The first thing that you are going to want to do is check out the bestsellers list on Amazon, which can be found HERE . After you are there, use the menu on the left to go to your niche. If you cannot find your niche, simply type your niche into the main search bar and some products should come up. Next, you are going to want to pick out some products. I usually use the products at the top of the list because those are selling the best, but you can pick whatever you want to. After you find a particular product that you like, click on it to go to the individual product page. After that, click on the little toolbar that should be at the top of your screen (as long as you signed up for Amazon Associates). After you do that, copy fill out your Excel Spreadsheet for all of the products that you have chosen. Now, you are all done with niche and product selection. See, it wasn’t that bad :) . Save your excel spreadsheet and keep it until we do some keyword research. Until then, keep searching for products that you wish to promote. I recommend having a GOOD list of about 5-10 products that you wish to promote. Alright, until next time :) .

Free SEO Friendly Directories

I know there are tons of directory lists out there, but the reality is that 99% of directories are a waste of your mouse clicks. That’s why I took the time to create a list of the 319 most useful directories on the internet today. All of these directories are: 1. PR 3 – 7 (domain PR) 2. Do-follow 3. FREE 4. Do not require a reciprocal link 5. Simple to submit to (no hoops or hidden submit links) If you wanted to outsource submission to all of these, it would cost about $40 – $50 if you pick someone up on ODesk or elance. or you can hire me to do the job. Get the excel file with the list of directories and their domain PR here: Code: http://jafiles.net/166Qk you can download it here
